What is NIST? NIST stands for the National Institute of standards and technology and was founded in 1901. Congress established the agency to remove a major challenges to U.S. industrial competitiveness. IT companies like ours will often use the term NIST to address concerns and issues with cybersecurity, what they really are focusing on is NIST 800 dash 171. There are many others, but 800 dash 171 is the common standard for cybersecurity protection protocols!
